The Surrey Intercutural Youth Service Corps (SIYSCorps) program is looking for passionate youth, who are excited to give back to their communities, gain experience and build a better Canada. Our program brings together a diverse group of motivated youth to become active community ambassadors. Youth may also participate in and design their own funded community project!!
We provide you with free virtual skills workshops, allowing you to build your leadership and interpersonal skills from your own home. This is followed by a customized volunteer placement at an organization of your choice that fits your interests and skills- whether that is healthcare, graphic designing or anything that peaks your curiosity! Additionally, you are also eligible for a $1500 micro-grant to build your own community service project.
Due to COVID-19 we will be offering virtual workshops, and we are looking for individuals who are interested in receiving $1500 to create a community project for COVID-19 support. This is a great opportunity to give back to your community during an uncertain time. Please contact us for further details. Note: COVID-19 will impact the types of volunteering roles available in order to maintain social distancing.
Virtual workshops touch on topics such as:
Time and Stress Management
Resume and Cover Letter Building
This is a great opportunity to gain experience, build your resume and advance your interpersonal skills so you can create community connections and build your dream career.
